2024 McQueeney Lions Club Scholarships

Application and Submission Rules

The McQueeney Lions Club awards up to  ten (10) $2,000 scholarships per year to deserving, graduating high school seniors in Guadalupe County.  Students’ academic achievements and extracurricular activities in school and in the community are instrumental in students receiving this award.

This application is specific to the McQueeney Lions Club and will be used in consideration of that scholarship ONLY.  Submitting this scholarship application does not guarantee a scholarship.  Therefore, you are encouraged to apply for all financial aid opportunities available to you through other sources, including the financial aid office at the college or university of your choice.

Eligibility Qualifications

  • You must be a high school senior in Guadalupe County.
  • The scholarship must be used for the purpose of study at an academically accredited two or four-year college/university or vocational school in the State of Texas.
  • Academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership will be considered in the selection of scholarship recipients.

How to Apply

High school seniors in Guadalupe County are eligible to apply and must submit a completed application, personal essay and transcript.

  • Complete all the fields in the application here and submit online.
  • Include your personal essay, not to exceed 500 words, in the space provided.
  • Upload your current complete Transcript of Grades using the upload button.
  • Once the application is completed and you have reviewed it, click the Submit Application button.

Essay Preparation

Your scholarship essay is a very important part of your application.  Please prepare an essay describing  your educational aspiration, any academic achievements, community service activities, examples of leadership, or other personal characteristics that make you deserving of this scholarship.  Your essay should be no longer than 500 words.

Deadline April 1, 2024 Selection of Recipients

  • The recipients will be notified by mail.  A copy will be forwarded to the school counselor.

Payment of Scholarships

  • A check will be issued directly to the institution; $1,000 will be paid per Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters upon evidence of enrollment/registration.
  • Students must submit College attending, Student ID and Proof of Enrollment to McQueeney Lions Club, PO Box 146, McQueeney, TX 78123 to receive payment
